Position Details: The Mechanical Engineer will support the development of proprietary aerospace and defense products on a contract basis. The position requires comprehensive engineering skills and solid project management abilities. Candidates should have a minimum of 15-20 hours per week available to work.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Reverse engineering mechanical components and assemblies
- Develop testing and manufacturing plans for designed items
- Computer-based drafting support
- Research electrical & mechanical components
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrated professional experience and accomplishments in the field
- Proficiency in CAD (i.e. Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks, AutoCad)
- Design knowledge of various mechanical assemblies -- familiarity with mil-spec an advantage
