We have opportunities for Underwriter I positions within Chase Direct Auto Finance.
Underwriter I are responsible for rendering loan decisions on consumer loan applications submitted via Internet or Loan by Phone and guiding the customer through the auto loan fulfillment process.
The Underwriter I will analyze information received from the credit reporting agencies along with the credit application to render sound credit decisions. Underwriter I are responsible for servicing inbound calls from bankers and customers inquiring regarding their credit application status and decision.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: conveying approval terms and conditions in addition to declined status, evaluating verification documents as requested, re-evaluating previously decisioned applications, providing information to internal and external customers, and making outbound calls when necessary to obtain any additional information necessary to decision an application, all while providing an excellent customer experience.
Hours : 4 Weekdays 10:00am to 7:00pm and Saturdays 8:30am-5:00pm
Minimum of 1 year customer service experience strongly preferred; call center experience a plus
Minimum of 1 year previous underwriting/credit lending experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of the auto finance industry preferred
Must be PC proficient and have a good working knowledge of common application software
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills
Requires strong problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Bi-lingual speaking preferred (English & Spanish)
