Patrol Telecommunicator Jobs Vacancy in State North Carolina Jobs Details:
Position receives requests for emergency and non-emergency requests for service from the general public, allied public-safety agencies, Highway Patrol and other local, state and federal law enforcement personnel, via telephone, radio and computer communications networks. Records, and assigns these requests according to established directives, policies and guidelines according to priority. Operates multi-channel radio workstations, telephone, and various computer systems in fulfilling these responsibilities. Dispatches emergency medical services and other emergency equipment when necessary. Recommended applicant(s) must undergo a
Criminal Background Investigation including a Drug Screening Test.
These KSA's, along with the Minimum Education and Experience Requirements listed, are required in order to be deemed "eligible" for the position. Qualified applicants must possess and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:
Ability to speak clearly and distinctly, efficiently receive and transmit communication messages while working under pressure by volume of messages or critical nature, accurately read maps and mapping programs. Applicant must successfully complete Basic Telecommunicator Training School, be eligible to obtain and maintain DCI certification (must not have prior or pending
convictions of felonies and/or misdemeanors that occurred within the last four years), and be available to work rotating shifts. Data entry computer experience and typing required.
Position requires working knowledge of the operation of multi-channel telecommunications equipment.
Manager Preferences: Experience in working under pressure. Current radio experience from
either the communications or the field side (Police, Fire, EMS).
Graduation from high school; sufficient experience to demonstrate an ability to work efficiently under pressure situations and ability to type; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. . . . .
