Fatima Family Center, located in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood, provides programs and services for all ages, including cultural, leadership and development activities for children and youth, homework assistance, summer camp, field trips and recreational programs. Fatima also provides adult services including parenting classes, computer lab, health screenings and food pantry. Older adults can benefit from socialization activities designed specifically for them.
Originally established in 1973 as a pastoral counseling and outreach ministry of Our Lady of Fatima parish, Fatima Family Center prominently anchors the Hough community with a 26,000 square foot facility developed by Catholic Charities and dedicated in 2000. In 2002 Fatima was recognized by the Annie E. Casey Foundation as one of the top five family centers in the United States.
The Associate Director for Fatima Family Center will ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. It will manage and coordinate direct service programs as assigned. Assist the Director with daily programmatic and administrative functions as required. Assist with the completion of reports, request for funding proposals, personnel activities, and other duties as assigned. Combination of experience and education normally represented by a Master’s degree inSocial Work, Human Services, Special Education, Business Administration or related field with 5-7 years of experience delivering and managing community services.
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
Must have a minimum of five years of management experience in health and human services agency or private sector required and a working knowledge of client based served.
Fiscal, administrative and supervisory experience required with experience in grant and fund solicitation preferred and experience in a non-profit setting preferred.
Must be able to effectively work with people of diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.
Must have the ability to relate to a wide variety of persons, both professional and volunteers as well as organizations and systems, both public and private.
Must have the ability to effectively manage a variety of concurrent and varying activities.
Must have the ability to work independently and be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to coordinate, prioritize and respond to multiple issues at the same time.
Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Must have the ability to make administrative decisions and problem solve as needed.
Must have excellent leadership and organizational skills, strong detail oriented skills with the ability to supervise and work as part of a team.
Willingness to work a diverse schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide a copy of driver’s license, and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually.Any MVR grade of “unacceptable” is not permitted to operate a company or personal vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities.
