    • Summary

      About the Position: Defense Contract Management Agency uses the Expedited Hiring Authority to recruit and appoint qualified individuals directly into shortage category or critical need acquisition positions.

      Responsibilities


      • Reviews contracts and technical data packages to identify the specification requirements which the contractor's processes must meet.Identifies differences between contract technical requirements and current contractor processes.
      • Establishes and maintains a communications channel with the Contracting Office and Program Management Office as necessary.
      • Notifies contracting offices and specifies preparing activities of deficient contract and technical requirements.
      • Reviews and ensures equipment, material, people, environment, methods, and other inputs to new/changed production/manufacturing processes and associated process controls to assure that contractual technical requirements are met for new/modified items or for products transitioning from design to production.
      • Designs, plans and implements an effective risk management program to ensure that all threats to the successful delivery of the contract are addressed and mitigated in the Government's best interests.
      • Performs risk assessments and analyses, relying on relevant customer, supplier performance, and Government data, and assigns risk ratings to quality systems and key processes.
      • Ensures compliance with higher level quality contract requirements, performing risk planning to address specific contract, customer and DCMA policy requirements.
      • Prepares surveillance plans tailored to a level of detail appropriate to the size, complexity and criticality of a supplier's facility and contracts.

      • This is a Defense Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level II within 24 months of entrance on duty.
      • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
      • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
      • May require overtime work.
      • Relocation/Retention Incentive will not be authorized.
      • Defense National Relocation Program will not be authorized.
      • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

      Qualifications

      QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

      Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

      To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-09. Specialized experience is defined as: experience performing quality system audits of contractors and/or manufacturers in accordance with guidelines and regulations; experience performing data collection and analysis to identify risk, in a manufacturing environment; experience utilizing test procedures results to improve processes.

      Education can be substituted for experience.
