Peer Health Exchange (PHE) is a national non-profit organization that empowers young people with the knowledge, skills, and resources to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college students to teach a robust skills-based health curriculum in under-resourced high schools across the country. Since our founding in 2003, we have trained more than 8,500 college student volunteers to deliver effective health education to over 115,000 public high school students in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington, DC. In 2016, PHE launched a five-year strategic plan to focus on growing our effective model while partnering with health and education systems, as well as communities to build a more integrated, sustainable model for health education. As the Intern, Talent you will provide assistance to the HR Generalist and Manager, Talent Acquisition in the areas of HR Administration, Compliance and Safety, Benefits Administration, & Recruitment and On-boarding. You will report to the HR Generalist.

This is a temporary, part-time (15-20 hours per week) hourly position, located in our San Francisco office.
Here’s what you will do as part of the our team:
70% General HR Duties
Maintain physical employee, vendor, and other files
Generate and/or distribute HR documents including: COBRA notifications to vendors, 401(k) Summary Plan Descriptions, and internal Excel reconciliation spreadsheets
Draft periodic vendor and government survey forms
Assist in tracking employee submissions and plan renewal documents for Open Enrollment
Coordinate the posting of legal notices across PHE locations
Assist in collection and assembly of audit documents
Assist in maintenance of all benefits documentation
20% Talent Acquisition
Assist in drafting/updating recruitment documents
Assist in scheduling interviews and new hire onboarding sessions
Assist in recruitment best practices research and drafting feedback surveys
10% Special Projects
Assist in any additional projects as assigned (for example: supporting organizational culture and employment branding efforts)
What you’ll bring to the table:
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Comfort managing diverse tasks, activities and projects
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle simultaneous assignments
Current or recent enrollment in undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude in Human Resources or non-profit management/administrative fields
Proficiency with Microsoft programs, Excel, Word and Outlook
