College Academic Program Coordinator Jobs Vacancy in University California Santa Cruz Santa Cruz Jobs Details:

Under the direction of the Provost, the selected candidate will provide administrative support to the Provost. The College Academic Program Coordinator maintains the provost's records, prepares correspondence, coordinates events, and provides support in all aspects of college academic planning, including coordinating the college core course. The College Academic Program Coordinator regularly interacts with students, faculty, and staff on the provost's behalf, and may occasionally provide front line assistance to College Office visitors. Some of the responsibilities of the College Academic Program Coordinator depend on the focus of the Provost, whether the college has a Provost House and/or Gallery/Library, and the arrangement and staffing of the college offices. What follows is a general description of the position. Not all Assistants to the College Provost will do everything and some duties may not be specifically noted in the list below. This description is meant to delineate the scope, breadth, and level of responsibility of the position

Qualifications / Competencies

Substantial administrative experience, including with purchasing, meeting preparation, calendaring, and special event planning.

Excellent written communication skills for preparing and/or editing various documents and reports, including excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Proficiency in a variety of computer programs including Excel and Word and demonstrated ability to learn new applications as needed.

Ability to design creative and interesting publicity. Experience with social media.

Skill in creating and maintaining organized and accessible filing systems and records.

Demonstrated ability to work both as a member of a diverse team and individually without close supervision.

Ability to follow policies and exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to diffuse charged situations, treat people respectfully, and communicate clearly and succinctly.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments, take initiative, multitask and meet deadlines with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to research, interpret, and apply a variety of policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications / Competencies

Experience developing and/or maintaining websites.

Experience working in a university or non-profit environment.

Familiarity with UCSC's proprietary IT systems and policies and procedures.

Experience supporting fundraising efforts.

Special Conditions of Employment

Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

Must possess a valid license to drive the state of California with a good driving record.
