The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF), Division of Management Services, Bureau of Human Resources is currently recruiting to fill an Advanced Payroll and Benefits position in Madison, WI. Position Summary :
Under general supervision, this position provides a wide range of payroll and benefit support services utilizing STAR within the Bureau of Human Resources. This position manages all actions related to initial benefits eligibility processing, including processing name changes, benefit changes due to life events, (marriage, birth etc.) and provides technical assistance and/or consultation related to payroll and benefits of employees, including counseling and calculating leave payouts for terminating employees. This positions’ main function is benefits but also provides backup to the payroll specialist.

Qualifications :

Minimally qualified applicants will have:
Experience working with PeopleSoft payroll system

Experience administering benefits and providing benefits consultation to employees, including employees on leave of absences

Training and/or experience interpreting policies and laws related to benefits such as leave accounting, FLSA, military leave, etc.

Providing technical assistance and/or consultation related to payroll and benefits of employee, including counseling and calculating leave payouts for terminating employees

Well-qualified applicants will have:
Experience working with payroll and benefits processes such as payroll processing and auditing timesheets

Experience with State leave accounting

Experience with PeopleSoft reconciliation

Experience with workers compensation and unemployment benefits

The starting salary is between $17.25 and $28.46 per hour, depending on qualifications. The pay schedule/range is 81-04. A twelve month probationary period may be required.
