Postdoc Associate Jobs Vacancy in Trustees Boston University Boston Jobs Details:
A POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW/ASSOCIATE position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Hui Feng in the Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics at the Boston University School of Medicine (www.bu.edu/zgct). Our research uses the zebrafish models combined with the analyses of clinical patient samples and cancer cell lines to discover novel genes and pathways critical for the initiation and progression of MYC-driven cancers, including leukemia, neuroblastoma and breast cancer. Subsequently we use human cancer cell lines and animal models of cancer (zebrafish and mouse) to understand their mechanisms of action and evaluate the therapeutic potentials of targeting these genes and pathways. The cutting-edge approaches routinely used in the laboratory include: analyses of human cancer genomic databases, in vitro genetic knockdown and overexpression studies, in vivo zebrafish high-resolution imaging, together with genetic and functional studies, metabolomics tracing and analysis in human cancer cell lines and zebrafish tumor tissues, and genetic and small molecule screens. Below are examples of the research conducted in our laboratory.
We are looking for highly creative and motivated applicants who are recently graduated with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Experiences with molecular biology are essential. Experiences with animal model systems and cancer biology are preferred but not required. We have T32 training slots available; candidates who are permanent residents or US citizens are especially encouraged to apply. Please send a cover letter, CV and a list of three individuals as references.
