Assistant Project Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:
Applying project management tools, processes and principles to enable project success.
Facilitate development of recommendations regarding best options lead to effective, informed decision-making.
Communicate proactively with Project PMs/subPMs, internal Stakeholders, Supplier representatives and senior management regarding progress, issues and plans for resolution.
Develop and use project plans to coordinate participants and track and report progress.
Direct project communications to ensure Project PMs/subPMs and internal Stakeholders are fully informed status of on-going assignments / initiatives.
Operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism; successfully prioritize workload in accordance with business goals.
Develop trusted and collaborative relationships by meeting and communicating regularly.
Ensure clear documentation and electronic archiving for key initiatives associated with the Capex Projects, processes and procedures.
For assigned projects, establish project management infrastructure.
Prepare Project Phase Kick-off Meeting agenda and materials.
Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans (PEPs) to reflect changes in schedule, scope, budget, organizational charts, planning, Delegation-of-Authority, Safety Health & Environmental.
Summary of Qualifications:
Business or Engineering BS / BA required. An MS, MBA, or 2-5 years of business/capital construction experience a plus.
5 years of project management experience in the Capital Construction field is required, either directly managing or supporting the project management of a range of projects.
Experience using a Project Management Methodology Life cycle required.
Experience with project management software applications and tools such as MS Project.
Experience using proven methodologies such as: DMAIC, LEAN / Six Sigma a plus.
PMP certification highly preferred.
Bio-tech / pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry experience desirable.
