Position(s) will interview individuals with developmental disabilities who receive services from the stateâ??s Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services. The project will focus on using a complex survey instrument designed to assess each individualâ??s satisfaction with the services they are receiving. Questions are related to quality of long-term services and supports, and are open-ended. Interviewer(s) will be responsible for independently gathering resources and making contacts needed to complete work. Interviewer(s) must be able to plan work to meet objectives and deadlines and to ensure interviews are completed on time. Interviewer(s) will conduct face-to-face interviews to collect data and must analyze and accurately interpret answers, analyze data/information to determine potential relationships, and code the answers provided by the consumers. Interviewer(s) must demonstrate significant knowledge related to methods of data collection and analysis and understand confidentiality requirements. Interviewer(s) must consistently and correctly apply knowledge of standard operations, procedures, and protocols. Interviews will take place in a location that is convenient for the survey participant, but may be in a private home, residential or day program, or another setting. Assignments will generally be made in the interviewerâ??s geographic area, but some travel may be required. Interviewer(s) are needed in ALL areas of North Carolina, particularly in the far west, far east, northeast corner, and southeast corner of the state. Interviewer(s) must provide their own transportation."
Minimum Education and Experience: Four-year degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience, or combination of training and experience necessary to perform the work. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Interviewer(s) should have experience in the developmental disability field. Ideally, interviewer(s) should have knowledge of self-advocacy and have personal or professional experience that fit the tasks.
