Premium Support Engineer Memphis Jobs Vacancy in Datastax Jobs Details:

We are looking for people with a passion for helping to make customers successful as a Premium Support Engineer. The Premium Support Engineer will have a deep understanding of both the traditional RDBMS and Open Source technologies with the ability to interface with both a developer audience as well as a non-technical audience. This position can be located anywhere in the US.

Essential Job Functions :
Serve as case manager for assigned Premium Support customers
Provide oversight and guidance to Worldwide Support Engineers working on assigned Premium Support customers Serve as internal and external point of contact on Premium Support customer escalations and ensure issues are resolved as expediently as possible
Advocate internally with Sales, Support Operations, Product Management and Engineering teams for resolution of support tickets and JIRA issues that are affecting assigned customers
Research, reproduce, troubleshoot, and solve highly challenging technical issues within the DSE product line
Provide empirical based guidance that leads to successful on-going health of large-scale, distributed solutions built on the DataStax Enterprise platform which includes Apache Cassandra, SOLR, and Spark
Educate assigned customers on effective use of DSE through a teaching / instructional approach
Proactive operational enablement and mentorship along with operational content creation
Initiate and recommend pre-emptive measures (i.e. - consulting hours, training, on-site visit, etc.) to ensure customer success
Provide technical thought leadership for customer engagements, internal initiatives, and product development
Active member of the company’s technical feedback process to Engineering, Sales, Enablement & Product Management
Ability to thrive in large, complex client environments, working across teams, organizing and leading support in these types of environments

Job Requirements:
BA / BS / MS in Computer Science, or equivalent
7+ years in an application development or consulting role
5+ years customer facing experience
5+ years of experience with traditional RDBMS and NoSQL databases including data modeling, performance tuning and configuration
5+ years of experience administering, configuring, or delivering solutions on Linux, Java and Python
2+ years of experience with Apache Cassandra or DataStax Enterprise
Experience with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning and troubleshooting
Experience with SOLR and Spark preferred but not required
Good knowledge of datacenter architecture, particularly multi-datacenter and global deployments
Past experience and knowledge around DevOps methodology
Proven track record within a software vendor or turn-key hardware/software vendor
Ability to learn new technology quickly
Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to present complex solutions concisely
Ability to communicate well to the developer community from the individual developer to the team leader
Creative and adaptive approach with an ability to remove obstacles and accelerate customer health
Organized and analytical, able to thrive under pressure
Calm, composed and articulate when dealing with tough external situations
Autonomous and self-motivated
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time is required
