Guerdon provides high-quality modular buildings and site construction by the most experienced team in the industry. We provide design/engineering services, on-site construction services and modular products directly to builders, developers and general contractors.
Guerdon Enterprises is currently looking for a residential cosmetic/final finish inspector to join our Quality Assurance team.
Essential Job Tasks:
A candidate for this position will be expected to inspect residential dwellings, industrial and commercial modular buildings in the final finish stage for compliance to cosmetic standards as set forth by the company and its clients. They’ll also need to be able to communicate to supervisors and employees defects that need to be corrected in a tactful and productive manner, and conduct final inspections prior to issuance of completion labels.
Minimum Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in building inspection, construction trades or plan review. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the stages of final finish cosmetic construction where various possible violations and defects may be most easily observed and corrected. Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. Skill in reviewing and evaluating technical data, manufacturer install instructions, and construction documentation. Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written. Ability to detect deficiencies or deviations from approved plans. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, members of construction industry. The ability to accurately use and read a tape measure. The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions is fundamental to success in this position.
Preferred Education and/or Experience: Building Safety Technology, Construction Practices or related fields. Ability to read and interpret building codes, plans and specifications. Working Conditions: Requires some work at field locations with exposure to dust, construction and operational noise, strong odors and uneven terrain. Field work may occur in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Maximum weight required to lift, push, pull, or carry is 50 pounds. Must possess the ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment, Must have a high awareness for safety at all times, must have the ability to stand up to 95% of the shift. Climbing of step ladders to enter modular units is required.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screen.
