Coordinator Jobs Vacancy in National Diversity Council Atlanta Jobs Details:

This position is responsible for the administration and coordination of the following major categories of internal operations and organizational activities, specifically for the Georgia Diversity Council market. The Coordinator reports directly to the Regional Director who oversees the eastern region.

Activities & Events

  • Coordination of Board-approved events (i.e., small workshops, medium-size Symposiums, large-scale Conferences, etc.)
  • Manage events through utilizing event timeline documents to ensure timely completion of all planning requirements
  • Coordinate event chairs and community volunteers who assume leadership roles in the development of events
  • Submit event updates for webpages and Salesforce
  • Submit event information to graphic designers for flyers and email blasts
  • Incorporate event updates into quarterly newsletter distribution
  • Formulate and share important communications to event panelists, moderators, volunteers, sponsors, chairs, and attendees in a timely and professional manner
  • Promote events through social media outlets (i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and secure media attendance where possible
  • Solidify event sponsors to raise money for events
  • Manage budget for events
  • Work with event chair(s) to determine and lock in key speakers for different events
  • Order awards for recipients
  • Help develop new events and programs that cater to specific local chapter needs for recommendation to the Board of Directors

Chapter Meetings

  • Organize monthly meetings (1.5 hours) in local chapters that provide a space for leaders and volunteers to share updates about chapter events, committees, and initiatives
  • Integrate educational segments into the monthly chapter meetings that use speakers, film clips, or articles to explore topics that relate to diversity in the community or workplace
  • Lead chapter meetings in the absence of chapter leaders and volunteers
  • Construct documents needed for meetings (i.e., agendas, call to action letters, etc.)
  • Promote chapter meetings to regional email lists in a timely and professional manner
  • Submit event updates for webpages and Salesforce

Corporate Partners

  • Construct and share important communications (i.e., monthly progress reports, upcoming benefits, organizational changes, etc.) with corporate partners in a timely and professional manner
  • Organize quarterly meetings with Board of Directors
  • Identify potential corporate partners through events, chapter meetings, networking opportunities, and social media outlets, specifically LinkedIn
  • Reach out to potential corporate partners and sell corporate partnerships
  • Grow the Georgia Diversity Council chapter through business development efforts to attract and retain corporate partners in that region

Additional Information:

  • Start Date: July/August
  • Salary: $35,000, with bonus opportunity capped at $55,000 in one year (this amount includes salary)
  • Entry level
  • Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Individual must live in Atlanta, GA
  • Although the role is virtual, the hours are strictly 8am-5pm (1 hour lunch)
  • Requires travel to up to two annual staff meetings in Texas for five days (four nights) each time
  • Requires arriving at venues by 5/5:30am for large events via the individual’s own transportation
  • Requires already having a laptop, Microsoft Outlook, and cellular phone for work purposes
