The Office of Campus Veterinarian ( OCV ) Office Assistant provides administrative support to the Director, Assistant Director and a small group of veterinary professionals. Office management responsibilities include answering main office phone and directing callers to the appropriate professional, coordinating travel arrangements and managing travel forms, ordering all office and medical/veterinary supplies, reconciling departmental budgets and credit card reports and doing intradepartmental billing, performing word processing duties which may include writing and editing documents, policies, publications and reports. The Office Assistant will also complete and maintain all payroll and leave documents for the OCV vet staff employees.

Position Term in Months
High School graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Equivalent experience may include office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, at time of hire a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass background check.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and stay on task.
- Ability to work collegially and professionally with individuals from various ethnicities, cultures, economic groups and job classifications.
- Recent demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WSU Policies and Procedures.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and be flexible in a changing environment.
