The Assistant Operations Manager assists the Operations Manager in directing and coordinating activities of the Operating department to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits.
Duties & Responsibilites
Heps the Operations Manager with the following: implement department policies with the approval of and coordination with the Human Resources department Manage, hire, mentor and discipline employees with the approval of and coordination with the Human Resources department Maintain all Company equipment to ensure productivity and safety, and know its locations at all times File appropriate paperwork and fees with all State and Federal governmental agencies Conduct monthly safety meetings ensuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations Conduct Driver's meetings to provide avenue for Driver input and communications Review inventories to gain efficiencies in purchasing and delivery capabilities Order processing and Dispatch when needed
Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in similar role Demonstrated supervisory skills 8 hour HAZWOPER training with re-certification annually Able to operate a forklift, pallet jack, drum truck and pumps
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Must have a valid driver's license
This position requires working in an office setting, long periods of time sitting. Must be able to stand, bend, push and pull at least up to 10lbs .
