Payment Operations Representative Jobs Vacancy in Performant Financial Corporation Livermore Jobs Details:

The Payment Operations Rep II performs essential functions within guidelines, regulatory requirements and established procedures accurately and efficiently, meeting or exceeding quality and productivity expectations. The Payment Operations Rep II will perform a variety of functions in the Payment Operations department including but not limited to:

Posting transactions, plus reviewing checks for accuracy and performing research on missing information for bank deposits. Processing manual credit card payments, importing credit card data and reviewing for accuracy. Entering Smart Check data into collection system, and processing non-standard adjustments that require judgement and decisions within some guidelines.

Balancing and reconciling transactions, plus uploading payment files to bank for processing. Review and balance of client direct payment transmissions and returned checks.

Processing exceptions plus researching and processing account inquiry/refunds. Researching expectation healthcare payments to ensure money is applied to proper claims using Insight application. Identify if claim previously paid, suspend or submit lists of claims to be suspended from Operations, and track process to unsuspend claims after payments posted. Researching payment exceptions and payments system placed on hold to identify cause and resolve.

Assist with training new or Level I staff.

Uses good judgement in performance of job and contributes to team objectives. Applies knowledge, experience to make good judgement decisions within scope of position on standard and some non-standard activities.

May contribute to identifying opportunities for improvement and provide input on work procedures, developing audit/review criteria, documenting work instructions, and other duties as assigned.

Learns and becomes accomplished in multiple areas and/or transaction types.

Performs Payment Operations Rep I duties and provides support to other functions based on business need and/or volume

Required Skills and Knowledge:
Basic 10-key by touch to meet job requirements

Intermediate Excel skills using established tools and templates entering and viewing data and results to meet job requirements. Can identify issues and may resolve issues or make some updates to templates or tools.

Intermediate Word skills using established tools and templates entering and viewing data and results to meet job requirements. Can identify issues and may resolve issues or make some updates to templates or tools.

Intermediate Outlook skills to communicate efficiently, effectively, and file/retrieve information easily and quickly.

Solid working knowledge of application(s). Able to quickly navigate to perform job efficiently.

Demonstrates basic understanding of concepts and procedures related to conducting audits, regulatory environments, client contract compliance, financial controls and workflow. Must have some working knowledge of basic accounting principles.

Solid written and verbal communication skills to perform job

Effectively reads and comprehends information to learn and perform job. Can apply information to broader understanding and connectivity within job, process, department, etc.

Is organized and efficient in performance of duties, is focused on detail that results in minimal error rate.

Intakes and applies learning quickly, easily adapts to change, performs job efficiently and can shift easily to changing tasks and priorities. Applies knowledge and good judgment to make decisions on complicated transactions in performing job.

Education and Experience:
Sufficient and sustained relevant work experience in busy office environment working with numbers, financial transactions, balancing numbers, process flow, and like activities to successfully perform job duties.

HS Diploma/ GED

Other Requirements:

  • Performant is a government contractor and has specific client requirements.
  • Must submit to and pass background check. Must not have any Federal or State liens resulting from County, State or Federal tax issues. Must not have any current defaulted student loans.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions or certain types of misdemeanors.
  • Must submit to and pass drug screen.
  • Certain client assignments for this position may require submission to and successful outcome of additional background and/or clearances throughout employment with the Company
