Purpose of Your Job Position
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in day-to-day activities of accounts payable and payroll for the management company and as may be directed by the Controller.
Delegation of Authority
As Accounts Payable and Payroll Assistant, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.

Works in office areas.
Moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with other office personnel, occasional visitors, government agencies etc., under all conditions/circumstances. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset vendors and employees.
May work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and on other shifts when necessary. May be subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
Communicates with the properties – through the Administrator, DOO, Business Office Manager and other company personnel as well as department directors and other management company employees.
Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or its equivalent.
Must have at least one (1) year experience in a business environment preferably with some general accounting and payroll administrative duties. Must be proficient in Excel. Experience in health care accounting preferred but not required. ADP Payroll experience and Matrix accounting software experience helpful.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, community staff, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be able to type on a computer keyboard and use a 10-key calculator.
Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing sound accounting techniques.
Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing accounting practices. Must have thorough knowledge of general accounting procedures including skills knowledge and application of general accounting theory. Must be knowledgeable of computers, data entry/retrieval, output, etc.
Must possess the ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
Must be able to prepare accounting, payroll and other and other records in a systematic, neat, and legible manner. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
(With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices) Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with personnel, vendors and support agencies.
