FAMILY & COMMUNITY SUPPORT COORDINATOR
The Meeting Street Schools (MSS) Family Support Coordinator will develop, manage and deliver a comprehensive program serving our students and their families. The Family Support Coordinator will also collaborate with the school leadership team to ensure the implementation of a successful program.
Plans and develops a holistic program that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students and their families.
Implements an effective referral and follow-up process to help connect the school and families to appropriate community resources.
Develops and maintains a current database of community resources for students and families.
Develops and maintains partnerships between the school and community resource providers.
Accurately and appropriately determines and structures individual and group support services for families.
Collaborates with colleagues, students and/or parents on behalf of student caseload on a regular basis.
Coordinates with volunteers to provide appropriate service delivery to students and families.
Creates and coordinates parent education workshops.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in student services, social services or related position.
Demonstrated ability to relate well to adults and children.
Ability to understand the way a child’s whole situation affects their adjustment in school and works to meet the child where they are.
Proven experience in crisis intervention with adults and children.
Team player, ability to work in a collaborative, responsible and professional manner.
A deep belief of MSS’ vision, to make a difference for under-resourced students.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Goal-oriented- seeks to improve skills through constructive feedback.
Compassionate, enthusiastic, empathetic and displays a strong work ethic.
Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field required
Master’s degree preferred
