Communications and MarketingCommunications and Marketing Manager Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
I lead the creation and delivery of the library's comprehensive communications and marketing strategy.
I am responsible for crafting Library communications across multiple print and digital platforms, and developing and implementing the Library's brand strategy while promoting the library's message and highlighting the library's services and resources to our patrons, community, and internal customers.
As a member of the Library leadership team, I collaborate in comprehensive planning, development, and implementation of library-wide policies and procedures. As manager, I provide strategic direction, leadership, guidance and mentorship for unit staff and ensure consistent application of operational, financial, and human resource standards, procedures, and policies. I mentor other staff to develop their skill and understanding of Communication and Marketing strategies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
I am responsible for long-term communication strategies to broaden awareness of services, increase visibility, and encourage support for library priorities with key stakeholders and internal customers. (E)
I develop and implement the Library's brand identity strategy; maintain brand style and content guidelines. I am responsible for writing, proofing, and producing media announcements, marketing materials, and internal and external communications. I advise others on media strategy. (E)
I oversee the overall architecture, design, development, and improvement of the library's digital presence across emerging technologies, including the website and social media. I assure design integrity, visual quality, effective communication, and publication style of the Library's digital presence. I coordinate with authorized contributors across the Library to ensure effectiveness. I ensure positive user experiences by studying usage patterns; continually improving ease of navigation, accessibility, and content; and implementing product and service enhancements. (E)
I oversee the overall design, development and improvement of the library internal web communication structure (LiNT).
I support effective stewardship of the library's resources and equipment. I identify and supervise external freelance resource pool, as needed, to meet all scheduled deliverables. (E)
I organize responses to patron comments and manages the comment/response process. (E)
I serve as the communication partner for Library leadership and staff in planning and developing a variety of library-wide initiatives, programs, and outreach events designed to enrich the customer experience.
I act as public media contact in the absence of the library director and associate director. (E)
I am responsible for signage and placement; I monitor use of the library's public spaces by staff and public for visual impact. (E)
I secure photographs/graphic elements, build image archive, and administer guidelines for the library's photography permissions process. (E)
