Job Description

Job Summary:
Prepares and issues bills for reimbursement to individual and third party payors in an out-patient or medical office environment.

Responsibilities:
Prepares insurance claims for submission to third party payors and/or responsible parties.

Reviews claims for accuracy, including proper diagnosis and procedure codes.

Reviews claim rejections and communicates with payors to resolve billing issues.

Prepares and reviews routine billing reports. Recommends process improvements based on findings.

Serves as primary liaison between patients, third party vendors and organization concerning payer issues. Resolve reimbursement issues for complete adjudication of claim in timely manner meeting carrier guidelines.

Advises management of any payer issue or trends for resolution.

Researches and interprets commercial carriers and government payers rules, regulations and method of reimbursement to ensure proper billing practices, reducing A/R.

Qualifications

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Experience:
3 years billing experience required, computer proficient and excellent communicator
