We are looking for a full stack engineer to join our team! The Neuroinformatics group at the Mind Research Network actively develops and maintains COINS (Collaborative Informatics and Neuroimaging Suite; https://coins.mrn.org) . COINS is a home-grown web based data management system that provides tools for neuroscience researchers to collect, store and share their research data.
About the role
The software engineer in this position will design and implement tools based on the aims of the SBIR grant: Enterprise Neuroinformatics for Interoperable Data Management and Dissemination. The goals of this grant are to develop COINS into an enterprise product that is easy to set-up and run, appealing to use, and regulatory compliant, cloud-based service with the potential for wide user adoption. Furthermore, enhance COINS to provide enterprise tools for data assimilation and harmonization, labeling and ongoing curation techniques for the relevant data modalities to maximize widespread real-time dissemination. You will be on focused on creating commercialization full stack software - you may work on major sub-systems of the services which may include API, front-end back-end, database, server operations, status monitoring, or multi-threaded utilities. You will be accountable for selected technical implementation, internal documentation, unit test development, and maintenance work on a subsystem, under supervision and mentoring from senior members in the group.
Requires a bachelors degree in computer science or similar technical field of study and 4 plus years of directly-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. Masters degree is preferred.
Requires a professional demeanor, strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills, excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Must have demonstrated success in working independently as well as a part of a team, and the ability to work against firm deadlines.Must have strong skills in the systems and processes outlined above.
