The role: Tier II Field Technician
As a Tier II Field Technician, you will remediate hardware incidents for PCs and printers using customer-provide spares. Some Level 1 support of custom applications may be required. You will provide support for external clients, owning those issues escalated from a Tier I Service Desk and/or assigned by a Level 2 Field Services Coordinator. As part of the incident remediation, you will assist end users with completion activities such as restoring their user data. You will complete proper inventory and asset recording processes prior to and during delivery and complete appropriate paperwork as required for customer acceptance. You will be responsible for customer inventory, including transport and exchange. On a daily basis you will travel to customer locations within a region, so a flexible work schedule is a must.
Troubleshoot IT issues for external clients
Diagnose and swap PC and printer hardware
Replace mobile devices, with some user configuration activities
Act as the liaison between nfrastructure team and the customer
Mentor Tier I Technicians when needed
Complete appropriate paperwork as required for customer acceptance
Travel to customer locations and possess a flexible work schedule, this may require overnight stays
Maybe responsible for operating company vehicle
Other duties as assigned
High School diploma or equivalent Associate’s Degree preferred and at least 2 years’ experience with PC systems, related peripherals, common software programs and Operating Systems
Familiarity with internal computer components and repair skills for desktops, laptops, tablet PCs, PDAs, and laser printers
Familiarity with standard Windows O/S and Office suites.
Ability to navigate users through AD sign-on, access their applications, and restore user data
Ability to thoroughly and accurately perform inventory and asset recording and complete paperwork as required by customer, including vendor warranties
Ability to perform final configuration tasks on customer premise
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Valid Driver’s license
Candidates must possess the ability and willingness to travel, which will include working off-hours, weekends and staying overnight with prior notification
Microsoft Certified Professional, A+ Certified or Network+ Certified a plus
