We are a e-retailer of local foods (grown, raised, or produced within a couple hours drive of our customers) with operations in the greater Washington DC area. We’re a team of good food lovers who are passionate about our customers knowing the names and stories behind the producers of their food.
About the Opening
This is a unique opportunity to join our daytime operations team in an opening available immediately. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks which ensure that our subscribers receive the very best local, seasonal, and farm fresh produce and other goods in top-shape on-time each week. Your role, at start, will be multi-faceted and likely to include inventory control, quality assurance, and order packing and fulfillment. Opportunities for advancement exist within particular areas of the operation as you get comfortable with your role and explore where you’re most fulfilled within the organization.
Primarily 4 days a week - approx. 7:00 am - 6:00 pm (depending on volume). We are looking for someone who is flexible, available on weekends and week days. To start, role will primarily be Friday through Monday. Part-time as well full-time opportunities available.
Your responsibilities / duties will include:
Quality control / re-packing of fresh food items
Inventory control - counting and reconciliation
Order fulfillment - assembling customer orders based on defined specifications
Sanitation - maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Previous experience handling food and/or food products OR previous food production
Previous experience working in a production / warehouse environment
Ability to work well with others
A clean motor vehicle record (no major infractions, DUI, excessive speed, etc)
Reliable transportation to / from the workplace
A high level of comfort with technology
A positive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile for our customers
Ability to lift 50lbs when needed
