Due to continued growth, SAMS is seeking a Travel Auditor to process travel claims submitted by the SAMS, Inc. client.
Major areas of responsibility or tasks performed critical to success:
The Travel Auditor will be responsible for validating and processing both domestic and international travel related expenses ensuring expenditures are within appropriate, allowable cost standards and meet all federal regulations and organizational practices. The candidate will also provide administrative support as required.
Experience reviewing and processing travel claims and knowledge of the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR), Joint Federal Travel Regulation (JFTR), and General Services Administration (GSA) travel guidelines. Demonstrated ability to research complex travel issues utilizing the organization's guiding principles, JTR/JFTR, GSA rate tables and calculators to resolve discrepancies.
Must be detailed oriented with a demonstrated proficiency in customer service.
Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients.
Must be able to utilize a computer to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized documentation and work flow processes.
Perform insertions, deletions, corrections, and moves data from one place to another, as needed.
Compile and maintain records of established office activities, performing variety of clerical duties and utilizing knowledge of systems or procedures, such as completing reports, providing information to customers, and employees, route incoming mail, answering correspondence, and preparing outgoing mail.
Establishes and processes work based on priorities.
Examines incoming work to assure that adequate, complete information and data are provided for processing documents.
Assists in the input of missing documentation.
Assures that documentation is maintained in an accurate manner.
High School Diploma and minimum of 4 years of experience conducting travel expense auditing or accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
College level accounting courses preferred.
One year experience in project administration/accounting position preferred.
