WHAT YOU WILL DO
Manage and supervise processes to identify cancer cases that are required for reporting (case finding).
Supervises abstracting of required data elements from identified cancer cases.
Supervise reporting/submission of appropriate cases to the State Departments of Health and the National Cancer Data Base.Assures that identified cancer cases are accurately staged according to American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) guidelines, including facilitation of physician reviews as required by the CoC.
Manage the cancer registry database, including coordination with software vendor and IS resources to ensure efficient and secure use of the database.
Develop and manage a scheduling process for tumor boards/case conferences and facilitates the identification of cases and provision of case summaries for the physician discussions.
Develop and manage mechanism for producing reports and statistics from the cancer registry database as requested by physicians, program directors, or other program personnel.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
At least three years of cancer registry experience.
Experience/knowledge of the CoC and NAPBC accreditation standards and processes.
Solid IT skills and experience with cancer registry database software and Microsoft Office applications.
