The Market Intelligence Analyst is an expert level member of the Corporate Strategy Office - Market and Competitive Intelligence (MCI) Team with specific focus on Market Intelligence (MI). The selected candidate must be intellectually curious, extremely resourceful, highly analytical, impact driven, persistent, not shy about sharing opinions and recommendations – and, passionate about developing themselves, their careers, and their profession. The role will demand a high tolerance for ambiguity and superb collaborative skills both within the immediate Corporate Strategy Organization and those thru out the company’s leadership team. The role is responsible for developing market analysis inclusive of market size forecast projections, assessments of HPE’s total addressable market, and analysis of historical market and vendor performance. The ideal candidate will have responsibility to analyzes both historical market performance as well as trends which will impact future IT Spending for the purposes of developing a point of view to influence HPE’s leaderships’ strategic business decisions. Primary focus will be the Services Market (Cloud, Technology, and other emerging x as a Service categories), but will also include cross-portfolio and technology solutions. Functional tasks include: Serve as the subject matter expert and thought-leader to provide consultations on the IT Technology market and HPE's role Engage with a globally dispersed GBU, Region, Sales Planning, and Finance teams to align assumptions and outcomes Prepare internal executive level analysis and presentations Analyze market trends and develop deep insights on implications to HPE Markets: Growth and Shifts Vendor Results and Insights Develop 5-year forecast sizing assumptions and models (inclusive of predictive methodologies) IT Spend Taxonomy, Definition and associated size HPE’s addressable markets, definition, and associated TAM size Market Profitability and analysis of HPE’s participation in growth markets What-if Scenarios to understand opportunity and risk Required skills: Superior knowledge of technology, business, marketing and financial associated strategies; experience working the Services market a plus Strong consultative methodologies skills including: Strong program/project management skills to facilitate deep business engagements with a globally dispersed team of stakeholders Ability to architect a framework an approach to sizing and defining new growth markets Proven executive level communication and presentation skills Delivers on or before committed timelines Strives to exceed expectations Proactively defines solutions to critical problems Working knowledge of 3rd Party Data sources used in the IT Technology industry which contain insights on market size, market performance and analysis of trends Advanced analytic skills Strong statistical and math skills, predictive forecasting methods Demonstrated ability to manage and synthesize large scale volumes of data, and build sizing models Demonstrated advanced Excel (including macros and basic VBA) Must have a positive attitude, and demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to persistent change and ambiguity The role is right for you if you are out-going, willing to take risks, problem solves quickly, works with a sense of urgency, and presents solutions with confidence and based on facts Education and Key Experience Required: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Math, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred 8+ years marketing, project management, business planning or operational experience preferable with companies within the IT market and/or from Tier 1 consulting firms or 3rd party syndicated research firms Industry experience in Services (Support, Consulting, Outsourcing, Cloud), Networking, Data Center Infrastructure, with relevant skills aligned to this role is considered an advantage Documented successes including industry and company awards or recognitions and/or publications a plus
