SummaryServes as a senior tactical/antisubmarine warfare (ASW) analyst GG-14 level and subject matter expert (SME) on foreign submarine and ASW intelligence collection, acoustic analysis, and tactical reconstruction within the Submarine Warfare Operations Research Division (SWORD), Tactical Reconstruction Branch. In this position you will plan and lead complex research and analysis projects that result in the production of finished intelligence reports, threat assessments, and studies. This position is in Suitland MD at the NIMITZ OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful selectee will perform the following duties:
- Provide accurate reporting and assessments on foreign submarine and ASW tactics
- Direct, mentor, and advise the branch's analysts on developing production objectives, preparation of intelligence collection requirements, and analytical processes.
- Provide analytic innovation leadership in undersea warfare intelligence support.
- Inform others of proper information handling, processing, and dissemination procedures related to a unique mission controlled access program.

Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication by a determining authority. A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service. Non-DCIPS applicants selected for a DCIPS position must acknowledge in writing, prior to actual appointment to the DCIPS position, that the position for which he or she has been selected is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS. Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must also acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS position. This acknowledgement is necessary as movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited if the employee does not possess competitive status.
DCIPS requires that all new employees successfully complete a two-year trial period if not previously completed in a prior DCIPS appointment.
180 Day Waiver

QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following duties such as: 1) Lead complex research and analysis projects that result in the production of finished intelligence reports, threat assessments, and studies; 2) Advise analysts on developing production objectives, preparing intelligence collection requirements, analytical processes, intelligence tradecraft, and research methodology; 3) Provide accurate reporting and assessments on foreign submarine and ASW tactical events and operations by incorporating ASW platforms' technical capabilities, doctrine, and training.
