Card Fraud Specialist AKA Research & Critical Thinking Dynamo

Are you a savvy financial services professional who can command a paper trail like nobody’s business? Provident Credit Union is looking for a Card Fraud Specialist who is skilled in analyzing data, identifying trends and drawing conclusions. If this is you, please get in touch! Who is the Card Fraud Specialist?

The Card Fraud Specialist works as part of the Card Services Department to process and resolve reported card fraud claims and proactively identify potential card fraud. They are a point of contact with the Card Fraud Investigations Department, completing assigned reports as needed. By researching discrepancies and being aware of emerging fraud schemes in the marketplace, they help PCU secure members’ accounts and prevent losses. The Card Fraud Specialist works 40 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling.

Here’s what you can expect day to day:
Investigating and researching fraudulent ATM, Debit and Credit Card claims includes a wide range of activities, such as tracking discrepancies, accumulating documentation and providing refunds when appropriate. As the Card Fraud Specialist, you will maintain a meticulous log for auditing and case management. You will work with vendors, members and other PCU staff to resolve fraud-related issues per established guidelines and regulations. You will also have the ongoing task of developing tools to assist in identifying potential fraud and working cooperatively to implement these tools. Reports, including Suspicious Activity Reports, are a key function of this position.

What you’ll bring to the position:
The Card Fraud Specialist must have two years of experience with card operations and processing, with some credit card experience required. Successful candidates will be familiar with FDR and PSCU platforms and be very comfortable with risk mitigation, chargeback, fraud and loss prevention. Customer service experience and demonstrated mathematical and organization skills are a must. Preference given to applicants with an Associates Degree or higher.
