Position Summary: Under supervision of the V P of Development, the Development Coordinator will provide support for a variety of Development activities including Donor Relations, Gift Processing and Database Management, Annual Fund and Legacy Support, events and special projects and administrative and operational support to the department.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Main Responsibilities:
a. Process gifts and donor recognition in compliance with IRS and AFA’s policies and regulations.
b. Generates donor, gift and analytical reports.
c. Updates and maintains database.
d. Provides metrics and dashboards analysis.
e. Track expenses, revenue weekly and generate reports.
f. Research soft credits and update Raiser’s Edge.
g. Maintain mailing list for each appeal.
h. Create individual key codes and string codes for each constituent in each appeal.
i. Maintain all donation information that comes in from appeals.
j. Manage donation calls to the office.
2. Additional Duties:
a. Organize donor files and lists and update as needed.
b. Wealth screens individual donors.
c. Works in conjunction with VP of Development to identify and research major donor prospects and prepares profiles.
d. Generate thank you letters for donors over $1000.
e. Send out Monthly Care Partner Letter (donors who give $1000+)
f. Manager corporate matching program
g. Generates acknowledgement letters.
h. Writes and edits direct mail solicitation letters.
i. Manager bidding process
j. Provide administrative support to the VP of Development
k. Respond to inquiries and donations via phone and email as appropriate.
1. Required: Bachelor’s Degree and 2-3 year’s work experience; proficiency in MS Office; enthusiastic, accurate and extremely detail oriented; strong oral and written communication skills, as well as time management and prioritization skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines; self-starter, highly motivated and ability to work both independently and as part of a team; comfortable interacting with staff, board of directors, donors and prospects.
2. Preferred: Experience working with donor database; minimum 2-3 years’ non-profit development experience.
