WHAT WE NEED
A leader for our genetic counseling services
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Assessing, developing, and implementing the need for genetic counseling and testing services. The Manager of Genetics is the one to make sure all those pieces comes together. Someone who can provide expert knowledge and promote the delivery of quality for these services to our patients. Think you’ve got what it takes?

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop relationships with key physicians and with program administration at each hospital to ensure awareness of service offerings and how they can benefit patients and physicians.
Develop informational material (with marketing) to inform patients and physicians of services and how to access. Including both collateral material and website development.
Develop methodology to track physician referrals patients, using information to follow up with physicians as activity warrants.
Develop consistent approach to service delivery for genetic counseling team, including identification of new patients, intake of referrals, scheduling of visits and testing, and reporting of recommendations to patients and referring physicians.
Perform individualized patient pre-test and post-test genetic counseling sessions.
Prepare and document individualized genetic counseling reports and risk assessments for patients and families with documentation of the reports in Epic.
Develop and implement standard methodology for delivering genetic counseling services through telehealth capabilities (phone and/or computer connections).
Access and evaluate best practice material for genetic counseling to ensure that our program is current and state-of-the-art.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Strong leadership skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
At least five years of genetics/genetic counseling experience.
Experience with financial responsibility, physician relations, and human resource management.
