Teller Jobs Vacancy in First Federal Bank Lake Charles Jobs Details:

SUMMARY
Performs all phases of teller operations including paying and receiving functions plus a variety of duties pertaining to customer transactions. Establishes and maintains customer satisfaction as the singular priority in all activities. Identifies and acts upon opportunities to refer customers to FFBLA specialists from other lines of business who provide specific products that meet the customer’s needs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of six (6) months cash handling and customer service experience in a professional setting required; previous teller experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
•Accepts deposits, loan payments, savings deposits, and collection items
•Cashes checks, Savings Bonds and processes savings withdrawals
•Prepares paperwork or computer input for customer transactions
•Secures and maintains daily cash drawer limits and balances drawer each day
•Accepts stop payments, drafts, loan payoffs
•Greets all customers as soon as possible in the lobby as well as drive thru windows
•Sells and/or balances official bank checks
•Prepares change orders for commercial customers
•Wraps and bags coins; verifies currency, mixes new currency; and separates mutilated currency
•Processes cash advances for credit cards
•Assists in opening night depository and works customer's night deposit bags
•Performs bank opening and closing duties
•Opens, closes, and provides access to safe deposit boxes (Some locations)
•Utilizes computer to input and retrieve information
•Refers bank products and services, including insurance and investment services, to appropriate bank representative

•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

•Ability to speak and write effectively to articulate the organizations products, account features, and benefits to customers and/or employees
•Fluency must be in English
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages
•Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
REASONING ABILITY
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
•Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Must possess the ability to maintain a consistent positive balancing record
•Excellent telephone, customer service, and interpersonal skills
•Must operate a calculator, computer, printer, and fax machine

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Normal work schedule for a full-time teller will vary depending upon location, but will consist of an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:45 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required. Part-time tellers must be able to work various hours and 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Regular attendance is required of all tellers.
