The Senior Investment Analyst reports to the Investment Director. On a day-to-day basis s/he works closely with other members of the Finance and Administration Office team to support management of the Foundation and the Office’s overall responsibilities within The UConn Foundation. The Senior Analyst is integrally involved in the analytic and documentation activities related to the selection, monitoring, oversight of the Foundations external investment managers as well as performing investment operations including cash management. Additionally, s/he is also involved in a range of activities involving preparing portfolio analytics, market research, and analyses for the Director of Investments and Investment Committee. S/he will also do ad-hoc analyses and research. Responsibilities include producing high quality work, including material that is readily presentable to constituencies outside of the Investment Office.
Experience and Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Familiarity with performance calculations and investment/research systems and applications.
Experience working with various asset classes, especially alternative investments, and understanding of capital markets is a must.
Strong computer skills including financial modeling, forecasting and risk analysis.
Self-starter with ability to work independently.
Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
Minimum of three years of professional experience with related analytic training in an investing environment preferably in Pension Funds, Endowments or Foundations.
CFA designation desirable, but not required.
