Ballard Spahr has an excellent opportunity for a highly-organized, detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to work in our Denver office. The selected individual will be heavily involved in discovery and e-discovery, including tracking, processing, reviewing, and producing large volumes of documents while interfacing with internal litigation support teams, clients, outside counsel, and vendors. Experience with e-discovery databases is essential. The paralegal will analyze, access, compile, and summarize large volumes of information; coordinate efforts between attorneys, clients, outside legal counsel, opposing legal counsel, other parties, and vendors; prepare drafts of legal and other documents and correspondence for attorney review; and support attorneys preparing for and presenting at depositions, hearing, and trials.
The position requires superior communication, organizational, computer, and client service skills and the ability to multi-task. Candidates considered will be proactive self-starters with demonstrated experience maintaining high quality work product in a fast-paced environment and within time constraints. The ability to work beyond standard work hours is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
A minimum of five years of law firm experience in complex litigation is required with experience regularly using the following litigation support software: Relativity, Case Notebook, and Trial Director. The paralegal must have a bachelor's degree; a paralegal certificate is preferred but not required. Must have knowledge of Colorado State/Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and filing requirements to assist with the formatting and filing of electronic and paper court submissions. BlueBook/cite-checking experience is required. Must have technical proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and internet searching as well as FileSite or another document management system.
