Oversees the distribution, support and configuration of leased end user computing devices in a seat managed environment. Collaborates with various staff to create plans and determine agency hardware requirements and standards. Responsible for life cycle management of all assets from acquisition through disposal. Determines operational and support requirements for the location, installation, operation and maintenance of computer and management information systems. Determines equipment needs and performs analysis to validate and support the need to obtain additional hardware inventory. 30% Responsible for inventory tracking of all lease end user computing devices. Validates devices are received from manufacturer, receives asset detail reports, confirms all assets are accurately reflected in the agency's inventory tracking system and the lessor's inventory database. Validates quantities, lease inception, lease term, lease expiration and lease rental rate are accurately reflected. Collaborates with various staff throughout the life cycle of the asset to ensure inventory control exists. 20% Gathers business requirements, defines goals, administers policies and establishes procedures used to effectively deploy end user computing devices. Effectively communicates policies and procedures when responding to requests for equipment. Informs customers of the policy, options and action taken on the individual's request. Identifies efficiencies and proposes strategies to facilitate the delivery of services. Recommends the implementation of new standards, tools or techniques. 20% Utilizes various automated tools and prepares reports that include detailed asset information and end user information to determine computer refresh requirements. Recommends and determines refresh deployment strategies. Formulates logical descriptions of problems and devises optimum solutions to ensure deployment of assets occurs in a highly efficient process that contributes to limited downtime to end users statewide.. 10% Assists with the preparation of cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis to aid in decisions on computer system modifications and implementations. 10% Handles special projects as assigned. Submits required deliverables by designated due dates. Ensures quality of assigned projects 10%
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and capabilities Knowledge of limitations and capabilities of computer systems, information technology equipment, computer hardware and software and computer operating systems Knowledge of inventory management procedures Knowledge managing assets throughout the lifecycle of the asset Knowledge of developing and implementing strategic plans and executing policy decisions Skilled in moderate Excel functionality Skilled in Access functionality Skilled in advanced troubleshooting Skilled in developing technical documentation Skill in solving problems, scheduling and testing computer systems Ability to communicate technical information to various levels of staff Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work independently and in team environments Ability to process information logically and perform detailed work accurately Ability to analyze systems, to write and revise standards and procedures Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university preferred. May substitute direct work experience on a year-for-year basis. Certified Texas Contract Manger (CTCM) certificate preferred.
