The Manager, Lean Manufacturing reports to the VP, Manufacturing and is based out of our Seabrook, NJ plant. This individual will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of a Lean Manufacturing Program in our Seabrook facility.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Responsibilities include: • Design, develop, and implement a Lean Manufacturing program. • Leads and designs Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving operations and processes within the plant. • Manages all activities for continuous improvement and performance enhancement. • Employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business objectives. • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. • Works side by side with plant employees to improve process and controls utilizing Lean Principals. • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering • 5 years plant management experience in a high speed fast paced environment • Liquid and continuous flow processing experience and 3 years’ experience using OEE, bottleneck reduction and yield improvements utilizing lean principals including six sigma methodologies, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and Kaizen Events • Lean certification through an accredited organization • Six Sigma green belt or higher • Team-oriented • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others • Organized and detailed oriented • Strong Excel skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.
OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
