    Summary

    This position is located in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA), Office of Regulatory Science (ORS). One position to be filled in each of the following locations:

    Alameda, CA:
    GS-9: $61,084-$79,410 per annum

    Queens, NY:
    GS-9: $57,948-$75,334 per annum

    Irvine, CA:
    GS-9 : $57,264-$74,444 per annum

    Lakewood, CO:
    GS-9: $55,027-$71,537 per annum

    Bothell, WA:
    GS-9: $54,869-$71,331 per annum

    Lenexa, KS:
    GS-9: $50,918-$66,194 per annum

    Responsibilities

    • Recommends solutions regarding the effectiveness of new administrative processes supporting the regulatory and/or safety programs for review and evaluation.
    • Gathers, analyzes and integrates information from various sources and ensures integration into the overall program effort
    • Identifies actual or potential areas of imbalance or deficiency from a variety of sources including; reports, computer files, data experiments, standard operating procedures, interviews, etc. and recommends corrective action.
    • Compiles and prepares a wide variety of reports using various softward including database, spreadsheet or word processing.
    • Provide imput to the quality assurance program, recommending administrative changes to adapt to changes in the work environment such as new laws and regulations, guidence documents or revew of audits or work to ensure procedures are consistant.
    • Plan, prepare, and set up for meetings and/or presentations ensuring all materials and background information is included in the presentation.
    • Represent the program in agency meetings or as a member of a work group discussing policies and priorities concerning admistrative or management areas.
    • Monitors and reviews requests for programmatic action or informaiton. Discerning imporatant issues and apprise appropriate members of the staff of any circomstamces that may alter or complicate issues.

    Qualifications

    The position of Program Support Specialist falls under the 0301 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS - 9, you must meet the following:

    Applicants must meet the following specialized experience and/or education requirements:

    Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service which includes experience utilizing standardized analytical tools when applying fundamental administrative principles and practices; developing and maintaining a variety of computerized databases relating to the operational and administrative programs, analyzing and presenting findings, and recommending administrative strategies or changes in internal operating procedures;
    OR-
    A master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related;
    -OR-
    A combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.

    If you are using education completed at foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
