The Department of Housing & Residential Education (HRE) provides a safe and secure living environment for residents in addition to promoting the academic success and intellectual development of student residents. The department enhances the resident's ability to graduate in a timely manner by offering programs, services, facilities and learning communities that support the academic needs and goals of the residents. These programs, services, facilities and learning communities also align with the mission of the University to promote intellectual learning experiences outside of the classroom to maximize student success.
This position will act as project planner to implement departmental initiatives as they relate to technology in the residence halls. In addition, this position will provide oversight and coordination of technology purchases and inventory for the department. Assist the Associate Director in developing and maintaining multi-year plans with regard to technology in the residence halls.
The Technology & Systems Analyst is a twelve-month, live-off appointment and reports directly to the Associate Director of Operations and Outreach.
Serve as a project manager for various HRE Technology projects including security enhancements, life cycle, system integration, system automation, system updates/upgrades, etc. Remain current with higher education technology trends so that best practices can be. Conduct regular audits of HRE technology systems. Design, collect, and analyze data that informs data-driven decisions.
Serve as HRE's liaison to USF IT, HRE technology-related vendors, and USF Facilities. Management Technology Operations. Developing, maintaining, and implementing technology related policies and procedures. Seek out new technological approaches that enhance efficiencies and reduce the possibility for error.
Procure various technologies (hardware and software) for the HRE units that have a value higher than $150. Manage a $1-million-dollar technology budget. Manage the department's technology inventory, life cycles, and disposal. Lead the department's technology procurement efforts.
Preparing regular reports on a weekly, monthly, annual, and special request basis. Provide recommendations to the leadership team as warranted and as it relates to the departments strategic goals.
Other duties, projects, and committee involvement as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training and one year of IT related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and two years of IT related work experience, OR a Master's degree and one year of IT related work experience, OR a combination of five years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training.
Master's Degree in information technology, business administration, data analytics, or other appropriate field. Experience in project management, customer service, data entry and reconciliation processes, and staff supervisory experience. Two to four years of experience working in information technology. Experience in automated systems, system integration, access system management, and/or purchasing at an enterprise level preferred. Preference given, but not required, with prior experience in RMS/Mercury, CCure, & Conference Programmer (or similar types of software).
