Brief Job Description:
The Help Desk Technician?position consists of receiving requests for service, providing telephone assistance in resolving reported problems, and tracking requests in a ticket management system from receipt of call to completion of service.
Candidates must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and technical expertise while supporting users on PC's, Laptop's, Tablets, and smartphone platforms. Supported networks will be Microsoft based both on site and hosted environments in our data-center. Experienced candidates will be self-motivated, multitasking, pro-active individuals who demonstrate the ability to go beyond text-book training to anticipate and prevent typical problems, as well as quickly and intuitively solve new problems. This position requires technical certifications or 1-2 years related work experience of desk side or remote support with experience in Windows operating systems and software applications in a business environment. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers.

Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users
Walk the user through the problem-solving process
Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
Provide accurate information on IT products or services
Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
Follow-up and update users of status and information
Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate internal team
Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
Prioritizing help desk tickets to ensure requests are resolved timely based on importance
Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role
Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control
Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
Experience with enterprise networking configurations and protocols
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
Excellent communication skills
Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
Participate in a rotating weekly on-call schedule for emergency after-hour support
Travel up to 30% between plants
High School Diploma/GED and BS in IT, Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job training or a combination of both
