Associate Analyst Applications Store Systems Jobs Vacancy in Ross Stores Dublin Jobs Details:

GENERAL PURPOSE:


The Associate Application Analyst is responsible for application support as well as applying new or existing technologies and solutions to solve business needs. Works with IT and business teams to determine system needs, support existing production systems and the execution of new system projects. May serve as a functional and/or technical expert in one or more disciplines.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Coordinating the efforts of internal and external technical staff in the support of existing production systems and in the execution of new system projects.
  • Evaluating technical designs, developing alternatives, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborating with other teams, within IT and business teams, to ensure timely and successful issue resolution.
  • Preparing estimates of technical project components.
  • Prepare and maintain financial documentation for IT initiatives including but not limited to the building and managing of monthly cash flow and forecasts. The role will also be responsible for Invoice and spend management, including the creation and tracking of purchase orders.
  • Developing project plans covering the entire systems development life cycle.
  • Designing, coding, integrating, and implementing solutions.
  • Participating in projects throughout the entire systems development life cycle (including creating timely / thorough status reports and leading status meetings) – ensuring that:
o Requirements are defined accurately
o Systems are designed/coded or purchased that meet the defined requirements, and that execute efficiently
o Associated system interfaces are designed, coded, and tested successfully
o Test plans (full life cycle, including integration) and training plans are designed and executed successfully
o Forecast, track, and balance all financial responsibilities per project / task
o All required system and user documentation is created accurately
o Projects are completed on time and under budget
o Anticipated business benefits are achieved
  • Supporting existing production systems
o Working to define system problems and enhancement requests; analyzing to identify and address root cause
  • Analyzing and correcting system functionality problems
  • Ensuring the related fixes and/or enhancements are tested successfully (by IT and by key users)
  • Assists in ensuring that users receive appropriate training and that existing documentation are updated accurately
  • Ensuring all support activities are executed on time and under budget
  • Identifies new methods of improving application performance and stability

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • 2 years of experience in supporting IT systems
  • Solid understanding of IT system dynamics within a complex, highly integrated environment.
  • Demonstrated career progression in technical depth and breadth, and project complexity
  • Technically competent
o Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
o Working experience with relational databases – specifically Microsoft SQL
o Programming experience with computer languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, and Pro C
o Working experience with Internet/Intranet technologies for applications deployment
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, root cause analysis, and debugging skills
  • Able to supervise other internal programmers and external vendor resources
  • Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science or related work experience
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team oriented, yet able to work independently
  • Ability to influence and lead by example
  • Ability to flex and adjust to different situations and competing demands
  • A continual desire and capability to learn
  • Experience in Store Systems in a retail environment preferred



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
