    Summary

    About the Position: Defense Contract Management Agency uses the Expedited Hiring Authority to recruit and appoint qualified individuals directly into shortage category or critical need acquisition positions.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as a member of a multi-functional or technical team as either a resident or a non-resident Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) at one or more supplier facilities.
    • Reviews contracts and technical data packages to identify the specification requirements which the contractor's processes must meet.
    • Establishes and maintains a communication channel with the Contracting Office and Program Management Office as necessary. Notifies contracting offices and specifies preparing activities of deficient contract and technical requirements.
    • Designs, plans and implements an effective risk management program to ensure that all threats to the successful delivery of the contract are addressed and mitigated in the Government's best interests.
    • Prepares surveillance plans tailored to a level of detail appropriate to the size, complexity and criticality of a supplier's facility and contracts.
    • Reviews supplier's first article test reports and provides written recommendations for approval/disapproval to contracting officers.

    QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

    Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

    To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-09).

    Specialized experience is defined as: experience performing quality assurance risk management that includes inspecting, performing product examination and non-destructive testing to control the quality of the product or service. Experience performing quality assurance risk analysis that includes statistical, quality data analysis and product audits on NASA items and/or clothing and textiles to detect conditions which may compromise quality.



    Education can be substituted for experience.

    • This is a Defense Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level II within 24 months of entrance on duty.
