Social Media Specialist Jobs Vacancy in Catawba Valley Community College Hickory Jobs Details:
Manage the College's social media platforms as part of a coordinated external communications effort focused on increasing awareness of college programs, customer engagement, supporting college marketing initiatives, and driving traffic to the CVCC website.
Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with various college departments to support departmental social media users campus-wide in the most effective social media practices to achieve their engagement goals.
Ensure that the College's social presence is aligned with CVCC's brand, strategic priorities, and public positioning.
Develop and manage daily social media content ensuring that all content is unique, relevant and engaging, and is cross-promoted on appropriate platforms.
Create original content, and curate dynamic content from other users on mobile-first and mobile-only platforms. This includes writing copy and identifying visual assets to support messages
Build and schedule all paid social media content across platforms. Report on results, and provide ongoing optimization to social media marketing stragegies based on results.
Stay current with new advances in social media marketing, best practices, and the competitive landscape to identify potential challenges and opportunities in the short and long term.
Provide recommendations on innovative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories, interact and build community and promote the college with the specific platform audience.
Ensure ADA compliance and accessibility of content to ensure all college and community stakeholders have adequate access to resources.
Associate's degree in Marketing and/or Business or related area of study, with 2+ years in a social media marketing position with diverse technology experience.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Advertising.
- Social media platforms, including but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Blogs and more
- Social media listening, publishing, and analytics software (Adobe Social, HubSpot, Facebook Insights, etc.)
- Management of one or more widely followed social media accounts
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
- To work without direct supervision
- Exceptional time and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple stakeholders and projects with changing priorities
- Technically savvy with an ability to quickly and effectively research and learn new tools and techniques
- Excellent, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong copy writing skills with a creative vision and sound judgment to make on-the-spot decision
- Work effectively in a team environment
Office environment; may periodically work irregular hours, including nights and possibly weekends.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive exposure to computer monitors and reading/editing social media/web content.
