Office Services Specialist Crt Jobs Vacancy in Virginia Department Health Surry Jobs Details:

Re-advertisement - previous applicants must apply again to be considered. Crater Health District comprises the Cities of Hopewell, Emporia and Petersburg, as well as the Counties of Sussex, Greensville, Surry, Prince George and Dinwiddie. Position base will be determined on business needs but will have responsibilities to serve all sites. Assist with eligibility of patients through an in-depth interview process which includes: verifying and securing critical information for the eligibility process; answering program questions, explaining policies and procedures, registering patients by collecting consent and other required forms; explaining charges in association to services; collecting payments and verifying patient/third-party billing; writing and distributing receipts, and scheduling client visits. Responsible for answering phones, registering and entering payments and services into a specialized software program; and performing cash receipt reconciliation, which includes processing correcting entries. Position requires travel throughout seven local health departments on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail required. Proficient computer skills which includes a: Windows based Microsoft Office technologies (ex. Word, Excel, Outlook). Proficient in basic math and accounting skills. Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds needed

Preferred Qualifications

Administrative experience in working in a clinical or healthcare setting. Experience in medical billing and reimbursement management systems. Bilingual preferred (English-Spanish).

Special Requirements

Must be able to work flexible hours between 7AM and 6PM and other hours as assigned. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of a state and federal criminal history background check, a Department of Social Service's Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check, U.S. HHS IG Exclusion List check, employment reference check, proof of education (diploma or transcripts), professional licensure verification, and eligible through E-Verify. Conviction information, ascertained through a fingerprint-based background check, is a final step in the application process (if selected for the position). Required to participate in district events, meetings, emergency operations, etc. May require work during some weekend &/or evening hours. District travel is required; therefore employees must maintain a valid driver's license and adhere to VDH's drive safety policy.
