50 South Capital Advisors is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northern Trust and is an integrated alternative investment platform offering private equity and hedge fund solutions. The hedge fund team seeks to be the preferred provider of core, strategic investment needs for our clients and has been focused on small and mid-sized managers since the inception of our program. The Team has extensive experience investing in the industry and has been led by its founding partners since 2000.
The Associate Analyst, Alternative Investment Research position is part of a team responsible for monitoring and sourcing hedge fund investments for use in our commingled fund of fund and custom hedge fund portfolios. The key responsibilities of the role include supporting more senior analysts on the team, performing in-depth fundamental due diligence on existing, as well as, prospective hedge fund managers. This individual will collect, analyze, and disseminate pertinent information on investments and assist in the overall due diligence effort.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Support senior staff in monitoring existing hedge fund investments.
Assist senior analysts by collecting and analyzing data, and by participating in manager evaluations.
Support our portfolio management team in activities relevant to managing our portfolios.
Perform industry and hedge fund sector analysis to identify trends and provide insights for our portfolio management team.
Maintain performance and manager databases.
Respond to client requests.
Participate in ad hoc projects requested by management.
