Genomics Genetic Disorders Section Manager Jobs Vacancy in State Michigan Lansing Jobs Details:
This position serves as the section manager for the Genomics and Genetic Disorders Section within the Lifecourse Epidemiology and Genomics Division. The individual in this position administers ongoing activities that provide the expertise and knowledge for the development, implementation and monitoring of Public Health Genomics, Newborn Screening Longterm Follow up including the Diet for Life initiative and state sickle cell disease plan; Birth Defects Education and Outreach programs as well as any other genomics applications such as the prevention of sudden cardiac death in the young and the Michigan Biotrust for Health in collaboration with other relevant MDHHS staff. This position provides management of budgets, resources and staff assigned to these projects. The position also serves as the state genetics coordinator, which includes providing leadership for collaborative activities with internal and external partners; and oversight of activities resulting from the department's federal grants and cooperative agreements related to genetics, newborn screening, birth defects, cancer genomics and other chronic diseases with an underlying genetic component.

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
