The Admissions Recruiter/Advisor manages a geo-market/recruitment territory within which there is frequent travel to and relationship-building with various constituents. This position has a specialized focus on Florida State College (transfer) students, their families, and advisors, although the selected candidate will also recruit and counsel high school students. This position monitors enrollment trends, builds and expands prospect and application pools, and develops research-based marketing and recruitment strategies to ensure the successful achievement of enrollment goals. The successful candidate will serve as the Undergraduate Admissions liaison with the FUSE program. While the bulk of the Admissions Recruiter/Advisor’s territory management will be conducted in Florida, out-of-state travel may occur.
- Recruitment Management: Aggressively plan and implement communication and individualized guidance plans for prospective and admitted undergraduate transfer students. Weekly reporting of territory-based outreach, travel, and yield activities is required. Dynamically represent and articulate USFSP’s undergraduate programs, scholarship & financial aid opportunities, culture, and admission & application processes. Provide quality admission counseling, review and decision admission files, and conduct information sessions for prospective undergraduate students and their families. Meet with prospective students individually and in group settings, and offer guidance by telephone, correspondence, e-mail, and social media, are daily duties.
- Florida College System (FCS) Liaison and Event Coordinator: Develop and maintain relationships with local FCS partners, with a special emphasis on FUSE institutions, to build and maintain viable prospect and applicant pools of undergraduate students. Identify or create support structures at local FCS institutions and increase USFSP presence on those campuses.
- Schedule and budget for extended overnight travel in an assigned territory. Travel within an assigned territory will be to Florida State Colleges, high schools, and businesses determined by the Admissions Recruiter/Advisor (with input from the Assistant Director of Recruitment) based upon market analysis and trends.
- Other duties as assigned, such as enrollment events, that promote Undergraduate Admissions' success
This position requires a Master’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Education or other related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in those same fields with a minimum of one year of directly related experience. Alternatively, in specialized academic areas, the position may require a degree in that field of study. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement for this position.
Prefer candidates with at least one year of experience recruiting or advising undergraduate students for a State University System institution of Florida. Preference will be given to candidates who are alumni of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Working knowledge of Banner or a similar Student Information System is also a plus. Skill in Excel and Access databases are highly desirable.
