Are you strategically creative and like to put new ideas into action? Do you have strong writing skills, knowledge of the electronic publishing world, enjoy working on multiple projects and working collaboratively as a team? APWA is seeking a Publications Editor in our Marketing Department that can take our professional publications to new heights.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for all editing and production of APWA Press publications written by our association volunteers and third-party authors. The Publications Editor will be responsible for project planning and coordination of communications with staff, committees, authors and stakeholders for all activities related to preparing technical or managerial publications for the APWA online store. In addition, this position produces internal communications and provides editing services to other internal departments to produce high quality written materials.
The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, strong project management skills, and a great customer service disposition. In addition, this successful candidate will be proficient in using all forms of media, have a great command of English language, and have strong computer skills using Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft applications.
Preference will be given to those with a strong writing portfolio, a minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of five years’ experience related work experience in editing, journalism, content writing or a combination of education and work experience. Experience working with associations is a plus.
