This is a significant role in which you will help our customers create a financial foundation upon which to scale their business internationally. This is a fast-paced, high-energy, deadline-driven position in an entrepreneurial environment.
Our CEO will spend one-on-one time with you to ensure your success. He will engage with you at the early stages, and equip you for more responsibility as time progresses.
Due to the high-growth nature of our business, the duties and responsibilities of this position will evolve over time, so we are looking for someone who has the capacity and desire to grow with the position. As such, we provide coaching and mentoring towards your goals. You will have contractor status.

Our team frequently works from our office in downtown San Francisco. Hours are typically 8:30am to 5:30pm PST, Monday-Friday, but are somewhat flexible, as we are more about accomplishing certain tasks and objectives with a high level of responsiveness than adhering to a set clock in/clock out time. Occasionally, there is a need to work additional hours on evenings and weekends which might happen a few times a year.

Take the lead in working with multiple companies - you will be accountable to clients.
Ability to present to CEOs and Board of Directors and respond correctly when confronted with a mistake.
Ability To Do The Following:
Timely and accurate maintenance of the books of accounts, preparation of accounts and financial statements monthly (within 10 days of the close of the month). Send the required management reports on time (within 15 days of the close of the month). (Including a monthly key performance indicator table) .
Implement and follow a process-oriented approach to maintenance of various books of accounts, ensure accuracy of monthly reconciliation of general ledger and accounts.
Ensure strict application and compliance of company’s financial management policies, procedures & controls. Ensure regulatory compliance and 100% timely payment of various taxes and reporting.
Timely preparation of payroll and adherence to required HR policies and regulatory requirements. Administer and manage payroll and employee benefits.
Manage the audit process on a tight time schedule. Organize, coordinate and provide various documents for audit with audit completion by 30 June 20XX .
Develop a sound understanding of the Core IT systems being used for managing day-to-day operations. Ensure timely updating of client and operational data.
100% correct and on time invoicing, management of travel expenses and timesheet allocation to projects.
Plan, create and manage a monthly working budget, finances and banking accounts. Maintain a monthly liquidity/cash flow statement.
Train, develop and mentor the accounts and administration team, if applicable.
Maintain, safeguard and facilitate updating of all HR personnel files. Ensure compliance with labor laws. Assist the HR professional in updating personnel policies as and when needed.
Ensure effective use and management of Company XYZ assets and strict compliance of related policies.
Manage the competitive procurement process for all relevant purchases.
CPA, MA in accounting.
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience working as an accountant and current experience as a controller.
Deep knowledge using QuickBooks (Online) and/or Xero accounting software.
Must have experience handling all aspects of accounting.
Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking) in English. Must be able to express thoughts and opinions clearly and concisely.
Proven ability to work independently.
Must be flexible with working hours to communicate with international offices.
Attention to detail, coachable, clinical adherence to deadlines.
Experience with non-profit accounting a plus.
