SUMMARY

The Summer Internship Program is a vital piece of BECU’s hiring philosophy and strategy. Interns are assigned a mentor in the department in which they will be working. The intern will work closely with their mentor throughout the duration of the internship. The opportunity is more than “sit back and observe”, our interns are integrated into daily duties of their respective departments, attend various meetings, and assist on departmental projects as assigned. BECU interns bring a welcome perspective to our organization. An internship at BECU empowers you to confidently move forward in your career path, having a valued voice in our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES


This is an excellent opportunity for a student to get fully immersed within the IT organization at BECU. The IT Service Desk Staff work with every single employee within the organization on a daily basis. There are multiple projects to work on that impact employees across the footprint of BECU. The intern working with the Service Desk will see, hear and experience other IT staff and groups. Overall, the Service Desk is FUN!


  • Workstation desktop refresh
  • Financial Center Build Out or Remodel
  • Knowledge Base Review and Updates
  • Transition from traditional IT to DevOps / Agile methods
  • Assignment as a representative of the Service Desk to other IT Projects and Initiatives
  • Use Excel, Power Point and be familiar with Client Computing (Laptops, Desktops, Peripherals) - Customer Service Oriented
  • Be familiar with Agile and ITIL concepts and vocabulary



QUALIFICATIONS

•Computer Science, and Engineering degrees preferred, others may be considered
•Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ required
•Proven leadership skills either on or off campus preferred
•Community involvement/volunteerism preferred
•Participation in extracurricular activities preferred
•Able to commit to a 12-week program throughout summer
•Comprehensive Excel skill preferred
•Strong written communication skills
