Medical Payment Posting Specialist Jobs Vacancy in Medi Lynx Jobs Details:
Medical payment posting specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate posting of payments, denials and adjustments as well as accurate and detailed posting of EOB payment from the insurance companies to patient accounts.

Reviews and interprets explanation of benefits (EOB) from insurance carriers to post appropriate payment and denial codes
Posts insurance payments from Explanation of Benefits (EOBS) against appropriate line item services and enters adjustments as indicated
Verifies checks against totals on summary transmittals.
Identifies and resolves underpayments from insurance companies
Flags all denied charges for collections department
Escalates problems issues to Management
Prepares daily reports
Documents additional necessary information for explanation of benefits (EOB) to insure others can follow documentation
Assumes responsibility for staying updated on changes to insurance companies and fee schedules
Identifies incomplete information necessary to post remittance, contacts supervisor to resolve questions, inconsistencies or missing data, produces reports as needed
Keeps abreast with the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Intentional Classification of Diseases ICD 9/10 books
Answers patient and facility calls professionally and pleasantly
Regular attendance and punctuality
Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of two years’ experience in health/medical billing and collections
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with frequent overtime.
No travel is expected for this position.
